DHPS teachers face Desert Dash 2024
Our DHPS teachers, Christian Oeser and Laura Voss, rode 401 km through the Namib Desert in the Nedbank Desert Dash on 6 December 2024.
For both, it was one of the greatest challenges they had faced. Oeser started and rode the first 174 km uphill with 2500 meters of ascent. After about 9 hours and 40 minutes, he handed over to his colleague Voss, who then had 171 km ahead of her. She also stayed under 10 hours until she reached Goanikontes. Then the two continued together. Although the Moon Landscape was beautiful, deep sand, wind, and heat made it tough.
Overjoyed, they reached the finish line in Swakopmund together after 22 hours and 38 minutes.
A big thank you also goes to the supporters in the accompanying vehicle without whom such success would not have been possible.
Congratulations, Ms Voss and Mr Oeser - we are incredibly proud of you!
