German Language diploma awarded at DHPS

Every year, our German as a foreign language-learners take the written DSD exams (Deutsches Sprachdiplom, German Language Diploma) at the end of August and the oral exams at the beginning of September.

The DSD, developed and managed by the Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) and the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen) in Germany, enables successful graduates to access colleges (DSD I) and many universities (DSD II) in Germany. The DSD I certifies language proficiency at level B1 and will be tested in the German course of grade 9 at DHPS from this year (previously in grade 10). The DSD II certifies language proficiency at level B2/C1 and is tested in grade 12 (Cambridge branch).
Last year, 22 DHPS learners took the DSD II exams, and 33 took the DSD I exam.

During the opening ceremony in the DHPS auditorium on 20 January 2025, the DSD certificates from Germany were handed over by the proud German as a foreign language-teachers Mrs. Falk, Mrs. Louw, and Mrs. Wlotzka. Mrs. Judmann from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany accompanied the diploma presentation.
A heartfelt thank you to the mentioned participants and congratulations to the DSD graduates on their diploma!
